Adalo Product Marketing

Overview

For Adalo's Product Marketing I got to expand my design skills by creating engaging, educational content that would both inform and inspire makers to explore the full potential of our no-code platform. I led the design and production of a range of materials, including product launch videos, Two Minute Tuesdays tutorials, and comprehensive intros for each new feature launch. Each piece was crafted to strike a balance between excitement and clarity, showing makers not only what they could create with Adalo but also why each feature mattered. This approach helped bridge the gap between functionality and real-world application, making it easy for makers to see how Adalo could empower them to bring their app ideas to life.

A significant part of the project involved building the Adalo App Academy, a free learning hub with over 70 courses on topics from app design to business strategy. Built on LearnWorlds, I designed and conceptualized the academy to offer a holistic approach to learning — going beyond just Adalo tutorials to cover everything makers need to succeed. By presenting tutorials, tips, and real-world examples, the academy became a valuable resource for makers at all levels, helping them build not only with Adalo but with the full breadth of knowledge needed to launch successful apps.

My Role

My role began with creating and designing all the content —from marketing videos to tutorials — shaping Adalo’s voice and visual style. Over time, I transitioned into a mentorship role, guiding team members to continue producing high-quality content that reflects our brand and supports our users.

Important Note: While I led the design for Adalo’s product marketing, it was a true team effort. I partnered with an incredibly talented growth leader and worked closely with other visual designers on the marketing team. Each of us brought unique expertise, and our collective collaboration ensured that our marketing efforts were not only visually compelling but also strategically impactful.

Project Details

Before Adalo, I had never created feature release videos or tutorials, but I quickly learned how essential they are to effective product marketing. Producing these videos taught me the design decisions needed to align business goals with brand values, ensuring each release not only showcased new features but also reinforced Adalo’s approachable, empowering identity.

For Adalo’s intro launch video, I taught myself Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro from scratch. I wanted a fast-paced, engaging video that clearly demonstrated what the product could do — striking a balance between showing real functionality and avoiding the “vaporware” feel of overly vague intros while still keeping it quick & fun. Finding that sweet spot meant showcasing Adalo’s capabilities without dragging viewers through a lengthy demo.

Two Minute Tuesdays was a fun, fast-paced way to create tutorials for our makers, packing valuable lessons into quick, digestible segments. I produced each video in Premiere Pro and ScreenFlow, focusing on topics that were impactful and fit perfectly into two minutes — just enough time for makers to learn without feeling overwhelmed. Teaching in such a short format required real expertise, and over the course of about 20 weekly videos, I found it to be the ideal length for efficient learning.

I designed and created quick intros for each feature release, focusing on showing makers why each feature mattered and what they could accomplish with it. These weren’t tutorials but rather introductions, showcasing real examples of the feature’s impact and demonstrating just enough setup to make it feel accessible. Using real screen recordings, I aimed to convey the simplicity and power of each feature without overwhelming viewers with full, detailed setups.

Each video intro was shared across all our social media channels, spreading the word with every new feature release. These videos not only attracted new customers by showcasing added functionality, but also highlighted Adalo’s simplicity — often surprising people with what could be built using no-code. By demonstrating our expanding capabilities, these intros played a key role in promoting the no-code movement and redefining what makers could achieve on Adalo.

The Adalo App Academy is a comprehensive, free resource with over 70 instructor-led courses, designed to guide makers through every stage of app development — from planning to launch and iteration. Created on LearnWorlds, I conceptualized and designed the academy to provide a holistic learning experience that goes beyond just using Adalo; it addresses the many aspects makers need to understand to create successful apps, including design, strategy, and business fundamentals. By covering essential topics beyond the platform, and through insights from industry experts, the academy equips creators with the well-rounded skills needed to solve real-world problems with their apps.

What I Learned
  1. Balance "How-To" with "Why It Matters"
Effective product marketing requires showing both the functionality and potential of each feature. Through these projects, I found that it’s essential to inspire users by demonstrating real-world applications while keeping the explanations clear and straightforward, making each feature accessible to all makers.
  2. Design with Business Impact in Mind
Creating content that bridges business goals and user needs taught me the importance of aligning design with strategic outcomes. Every video or tutorial was crafted not only to showcase Adalo’s capabilities but to drive user engagement and adoption, proving that well-designed marketing can directly support business growth.
  3. Educate Beyond the Product
Effective product marketing involves teaching users more than just how to use your tool—it’s about empowering them with knowledge to succeed throughout their entire journey. By providing guidance on areas like strategy, design, and best practices, I learned that supporting users holistically helps them achieve real success and deepens their connection to the product.
